Become a Board Member

The Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys is always looking for talented and committed individuals to become members of our Board of Directors.  Having adopted a new strategic plan in the spring of 2006, we are an organization that is changing and growing constantly.  We would welcome members of the community who want to serve to help us become an even better organization. 

 Diversity

Selection of board members is based on a number of factors, but one of our specific goals in the next few years is to make our board more representative of the Greater Denver community as a whole.  We are particularly interested in:

 1.  People with are interested in and have experience working with museum management, collections management and curating, advertising and marketing, law, fundraising, and financial management.

2. People from our surrounding neighborhoods of City Park West, Capitol Hill, and Park Hill

3. People of color

4. Men.  We want to create a board with more gender balance.

 Board Responsibilities

Accepting membership on a non-profit board is a serious commitment. We encourage all prospective board members to familiarize themselves with basic nonprofit governance and management before joining the Museum board.  Please contact the Museum for resources.  The Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys is committed to ongoing board and staff education so prospective board members will have the opportunity to continually develop their skills after joining the board.
